Appending empty years to a panel dataset

Hi,

I have a panel dataset that goes to Year t. In my code I create a Variable X that is calculated from lagged values, so that I have the necessary data to create values for Variable X up to Year t+1. However, because my initial dataset only goes to Year t, there is no cell where that could be placed. Therefore, is there a way to append years to a dataset in EViews? (Because I don't have data for those years, they would just be empty cells until I construct the lagged variables).

I realize that I could get around this problem by adding extra years to the original dataset that I've imported into EViews, but I would rather not play around with that dataset.

Double click on the Range: section at the top of your workfile, then change the end date.
