two sub sample analysis

Postby petter » Wed Aug 03, 2016 4:16 pm

Hi, i wonderd how i can get the discriptiv statistic and estimat the equition when i divide the sample in two samples?
Variables: name, year, id, ir, deposit, labour, capital, loans, equity and lnta. The sample is dived in two in big size banks and smaal size banks.

im gonna construct two subsamples according to if they are smaller or bigger than the average (wrt lnta) im gonna find the decripitive statistic for the main variables in the two samples

I've sorted the sample in two giving them 1 if big and 0 if small, and i've got the data in eviews, but i only get the descriptive for the whole sample and not the two samples

thanks for any suggestions

You may have to do each group separately.
