When I use the latest EViews 7.2 build (Nov 29 2011) with the (excellent) BVAR add-in in what I assume is its latest version (downloaded 30 Nov 2011, but the "bvar" programme is dated 27/07/2011), nothing happens: no "bvar" spool is produced. By contrast, if I use the "bvar" programme dated 24/03/2011, the usual "bvar" spool is produced. This would seem to indicate that either the 27/07/2011 version of "bvar" is faulty, or that something in the latest EViews build is blocking its functioning.

Re: Broken BVAR??
I have the latest version of EViews, and just downloaded the latest version of the Add-in, and it worked for me.

Strange ...
I will try reinstalling everything to see if it is a problem with my installation.

Re: Broken BVAR??
I repeated the installation of the new EViews 7.2 29 Nov 2011 build and the 27/07/2011 bvar programme, with the same (negative) results.
However, when I then manually pointed the add-in to the new bvar programme (by double-clicking on it in the "manage add-ins" window) it worked...
An unrelated query: is there a limit to the indexing of parameters in a model? When attempting to build a model, I receive an error if the coefficient index ("C(..)") is greater than 800 (even though the actual number of coefficients is (much!) smaller)

Re: Broken BVAR??
You can't index an element of a coefficient vector that doesn't exist. The C coefficient vector has 750 elements. Thus you can't index element 800.

Re: Broken BVAR??
Thanks. I understand then that the index limit is 750.
