Re: GetStocks (fetch stock data)
Note that the GetStocks add-in uses "D" for a keyboard shortcut, which seems to be masked by the keyboard shortcut for Download add-ins.
Re: GetStocks (fetch stock data)
Is it possible to download daily stock data into dated workfile?
Weekly and monthly data are OK, but dailies are totally messed up: when the data are downloaded into undated workfiles most recent quotes appear at the top of the data sheet and consequently moving averages are calculated forward looking. E.g. Techincal Analysis add-in, techasis, Bollinger Bands (20 periods,2 standard deviation):
obs AAPL_DATE AAPL_CLOSE OUT_HIGH OUT_LOW
1 2012-08-06 622.55 NA NA
2 2012-08-06 622.55 NA NA
3 2012-08-03 615.70 NA NA
4 2012-08-02 607.79 NA NA
5 2012-08-01 606.81 NA NA
6 2012-07-31 610.76 NA NA
7 2012-07-30 595.03 NA NA
8 2012-07-27 585.16 NA NA
9 2012-07-26 574.88 NA NA
10 2012-07-25 574.97 NA NA
11 2012-07-24 600.92 NA NA
12 2012-07-23 603.83 NA NA
13 2012-07-20 604.30 NA NA
14 2012-07-19 614.32 NA NA
15 2012-07-18 606.26 NA NA
16 2012-07-17 606.94 NA NA
17 2012-07-16 606.91 NA NA
18 2012-07-13 604.97 NA NA
19 2012-07-12 598.90 NA NA
20 2012-07-11 604.43 577.5353 629.2627
21 2012-07-10 608.21 578.3012 627.0628
There is no such issue with weeklies and monthlies.

Re: GetStocks (fetch stock data)
I don't follow. If I run the add-in and grab IHS daily data, it puts it into an irregular daily dated workfile.

Re: GetStocks (fetch stock data)
Well, now after trying again, it works properly.
I have no idea what have changed, but you may see yourself from my earlier example that the workfile was undated and consequently TA moving averages were from the future.
Let's see if this issue might occur one more time

Re: GetStocks (fetch stock data)
Looks like Yahoo Finance doesn't provide those stocks in the same format.
