Postby EViews Rebecca » Fri Feb 24, 2017 11:57 am

This thread is about the frenchdata add-in that fetches data from Ken French's data library and parses it into EViews workfiles.

Hi, I am using Eviews 10 Enterprise Edition 64 bit. I have installed the frenchdata add in. I have changed the alpha truncation max length to 5000 in general options. However when I try to import most large portfolios I get the attached error. For instance on the 6 portfolios formed on size and Book-To-Market (2x3). This error occurs on most portfolio data imports. Why is this and does anyone know how to fix it? Thanks. Tom

I don't get this error. Can you check that you are up to date (Help -> EViews Update)?

If you ever have trouble downloading an add-in, you can always hit the "Website" button and go to the following page to download the add-in directly:
http://www.eviews.com/Addins/addins.shtml

From that page, I got the following download link for the frenchdata add-in:
http://www.eviews.com/Addins/frenchdata.aipz

Once you've downloaded the AIPZ file, you can drag it onto EViews to start the installation process.
