Hi,
Does Eviews digitally sign it's Microsoft Office addins with a Trusted Publisher certificate ? If not, are there any plans to do so ?
Our company's security standards require all Office addins to be digitally signed in order to validate it comes from a trusted source and that the code has not been tampered with.

Re: EViews 8 add-ins for Microsoft Office digitally signed ?
We currently have no plans to sign the add-in with a Trusted Publisher's certificate.
The add-in is simply a nicer front-end to using our OLEDB provider. All the code for the add-in (at least the original version) can be found by opening the "EViews Add In.xla" located in your EViews folder. You can take this code, change the name, and sign it with your own certificate (if you have one).
You can also skip the add-in and use our OLEDB provider directly to import your data into Excel. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Open a Excel spreadsheet to receive EViews data.
2. Click the Data ribbon tab.
3. In the "Get External Data" ribbon, you should see an dropdown button that says "From Other Sources". Click this button and then select "From Data Connection Wizard".
4. On the "Data Connection Wizard" dialog, select "Other/Advanced".
5. On the "Data Link Properties" dialog "Properties" tab, select "EViews OLE DB Provider", then click Next.
6. On the "Connection" tab, click the browse button next to the Path textbox to open the File Open dialog.
7. In the File Open dialog, find your EViews workfile or database file, then click Open.
8. Back on the "Connection" tab, click the OK button to close the dialog.
9. Back on the "Data Connection Wizard", Excel should now show you a list of objects on the first page in your workfile (or database). The first dropdown lets you select between pages, and the listbox shows you the available objects on that page. Select an object to import, then click Next.
10. On the last page of the wizard, click Finish.
11. Excel should now ask you where you want to place the data in your spreadsheet using the Import Data dialog. While the dialog is open, select the cell where the first data element should go then click OK.
12. Your EViews data should now appear in your spreadsheet.
To refresh your data in Excel, click the Data ribbon tab again, then click the "Refresh All" button.
