Is it possible to install EViews to a thumb drive. For example, so it can be used while giving a presentation on a computer that doesn't have EViews installed?

On a network in which there is an EViews License Manager running? (I assume so, since you asked in the License Manager forum)

You think a guy who spells things "thrumb" makes such fine distinctions about which forum section he's posting in???

I'm not sure about the License Manager connection. Our license permits use in student labs, but I don't think it's a campus-wide license. Would I be correct in inferring that a thumb drive is doable if it can reach the license manager, but not otherwise?

Yes, you can just copy the EViews 7 folder from your "Program Files" to your thumb drive. As long as the lisource.txt file points to the correct license server on your network, EViews should startup fine.

Steve,

Is it possible to install a license on the thumb drive itself?

No. That would require a licensing model that allows us to tie a license to the flash drive itself (instead of the computer).
