Student paper, please help!

Postby Milkinator » Wed Oct 24, 2018 11:02 pm

Hey guys

I am running my first ever ARDL model assignment and just having a few issues because im still new at this stuff.

I logged 2 outve my 4 variables, GDP and unemployment, and left interest and inflation as normal due to negatives.
Is this fine? can i choose to log only 2 variables or is it required to log everything?

Also i have attatched a file with my results, any assistance in helping me interpret the data will be of great help!

Thanks in advance
Mike

Econometrically, there is no issue if you log only some of your variables. At the end of the day, ARDL is just a LS regression. Nevertheless, the interpretation of what coefficients mean will depend on which variables are logged. Have a look at the attached document to better understand coefficient interpretation under log transformations. Also, please see our 3 part blog on the theory and practice of ARDL models.
