Pooled data

Postby masoud » Wed Aug 09, 2017 8:01 pm

Hi Eviews Dear users
I have a question

I have data for Turkish households for three years 2004, 2010 and 2016
But the number of these data is different
For 2004, the sample is 12,000
For 2010, the sample is 16,000
For 2016, the sample is 18,000
Families are also unique to their own year and will not be repeated in other years
Is the data type pooled?
If pooled, how should I import data into eviews? Given that، Mr. Smith's household, for example in 2004 is no longer in other years (2010, 2016), then I do not have a section like provinces or countries to enter in eviews.
please guide me

thanks for your attention

Possibility: you could demean (or normalize) the data for each yearly sample (to make sure you're accounting for any common time effects) and then lump it together as a single cross-section.

Hi
Your data is Unbalanced panel data. you have number of observation over three years or more, but the number in each year is different, so this is unbalanced panel data
