Transfer of Data from EPS to Eviews

Hello,

I have a very specific question related to transforming data to EViews from the database in a program called DRI(for Data Resources Inc.)/McGraw-Hill’s Economic Programming System (EPS). It is a pretty old program. Is it possible to get any kind of advice on that from someone?

The original principal author and designer of EPS is Robert Lacey, with important
design contributions by Robert Hall and Edward Green. It was introduced by Data
Resources Inc. (DRI) in 1977–1978 and replaced the EPL software originally developed
by Robert Hall during the period 1968–1977, which was in turn based on TSP.
By the early 1980s, the responsibility for maintaining and updating EPS became a
corporate activity. The original installation was on a Burroughs B6700 and then a
B7700. EPS was ported to the IBM mainframe environment in the mid-1980s as
EPS/VM. A version for the PC, implemented as a DOS package, became operational
in or about 1990. With the merger of the WEFA Group and DRI, to form Global
Insight in late 2002 or early 2003, EPS has apparently ceased to be a supported
product and is currently in a winding down phase.

Best thing to do is ask the question and see if anyone responds :)

I managed to find my old (1998) copy of EPS PC. But I need some info from you.

What kind of EPS bank is it? Is it from EPS on the mainframe, or EPS PC. If it is the latter there is a DOS program with EPS PC that can convert the bank to a text file, which you could play with and turn it into a EViews input file and recreate the series.
