Note : A premium scribd account is now necessary for downloads. if you do not want to buy it, you can still ask me for the book at jlbrillet@yahoo.fr

I am pleased to announce that I just uploaded a book called

"Structural econometric modelling : Methodology and tools with applications under Eviews"

on http://www.scribd.com in PDF format (two versions : plain text and bookmarks, quite useful if you want to address a specific subject).

I have been using this material for a seminar I give regularly, in particular at the EcoMod Summer School, in Brussels every July (see www.ecomod.net).

The sites are

For the "bookmark" version

http://www.scribd.com/doc/89229429/Stru ... elling-Bkm

For the plain text version

http://www.scribd.com/doc/89233849/Stru ... lling-Page

This book is available free of charge (for reading and printing).

It teaches how to build and use a structural econometric (or economic) model of any size, using a very applied approach.

Its backbone is the development of a small (but representative) macroeconomic model under EViews, with results presented in tables and graphs.

EViews specific features are presented, along with strategic and technical advice.

A set of Eviews files allowing to teach, learn and start building one's own small or medium sized model is available from the author on request at

jlbrillet@yahoo.fr or jlbrillet24@gmail.com.

As this is a self-edited publication by a non native english speaker (and not a very eloquent one either :) ), you will probably find some improperties if not a few plain mistakes, even if my test readers had no problems.

Of course, I will be extremely grateful for any constructive comments, even strong criticisms (which the subject is prone to create).

Take care.

Jean Louis Brillet.

I am not used to this, and for authors access is special.

But I asked my wife could reach it :). She went to the authors list and asked for "brillet".

I hope there is another way.

Yes this is it. A lot of graphs and tables however....

Hopefully, with the bookmarks you can locate your specific interest. :)

It looks like Scribd have changed their rules and you can no longer download it for free. You can still read it on their site though.

I am working my way through this text, and I have to say it is excellent. An extremely useful handbook for modeling, both in terms of theoretical considerations and hands-on technical guidance.

I'm only part way through, but so far I highly recommend it!

Thanks very much to Jean Louis for making this excellent resource available for free!
