RE: Picking series up generated in a different page

Postby Farmer George » Fri May 16, 2014 3:09 pm

I am running a model and would like to use a forecast series generated in a different page by a different model. I know I can link the series, but the model does not allow me to use it directly - I get the message '(series name) is write protected and can not be modified'. Is it possible to pick-up/reference the series directly from its home page? Thanks

You'll have to use pagelinks.

Thanks Gareth. How would I do that from within a Model object - is it possible to refer to a page within the Text where the model is being formulated? Thanks.

No, you'll have to create a link object in the workfile, then use that link object in the model.

Apologies, I'm new to this. How do I create a link object to another page and reference it in the Model object Text screen in the page I'm setting the Model object up in? Thanks.

Gareth, think I've cracked it now. Played around with the link object and entered the info on the Link spec and all works fine. Neat facility!
