Actually our limited internal testing and the reports of other users indicates it doesn't work under wine.

regarding using Wine, was this after users were able to send their license information? I tried to install my EViews7 on Ubuntu Linux using wine and the install appeared to go well, but I was unable to send my license information.

EViews cannot collect valid machine ID information under Wine, which is why installation will not work. We've found no way around this.

Actually, i have just installed Eviews 9 in my linux PC with Wine.
I will make some tests and post my impressions as soon as possible!
