I am trying to setup a silent installation for the 10 users at our company and have run into some difficulties.
I have searched teh forums and there is not much information on this.
I have tried the following


I have run setup.exe -r -f1c:\eviews\install\setup.iss
Entered the installation information and completed installation, this did create the ISS file

I copy the iss file to another machine and perform the silent installation on the new machine uning setup.exe -s -f1c:\eviews\install\setup.iss but does not install. even if I unisntall it on origianl machine and try on it, I get teh same issue
The log file does get created in the same dir as the setup.iss and displays

Am I doing something wrong? or is there other command line switches,
I tried doing the /? against setup.exe on the CD ROM but it didnt show me any options

No, I did try that to the same result, sorry should have mentioned that

It is strange you are getting ResultCode=-3. This was an issue with early EViews 6 CDs but not with EViews 7. What is the modification/creation date of the setup.exe file?

It sounds as though you are doing everything correct but take a look at http://forums.eviews.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=21. Here you will find specific instructions on how to perform a silent install.

RESOLVED -
Turns out these were test machines for initial manual installs testing and the locall license file "\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Quantitative Micro Software\EViews\7.00.000\LICENSE.TXT" was still there, once I deleted this file, the silent installs worked fine, I just added it in my scripts to look for this file and delete it,
