Problem installing Eviews 9

I'd need your support for an installation of Eviews 9 on a machine running Win 7 Enterprise 64 bit.
I run the installer as administrator.
The installation stops after the extraction of the package with this error:
"One or more installer files are missing! Unable to proceed with install."
This occurs both with the 32 and 64 bit installers.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Try pressing the right mouse button while over the installer exe and then selecting 'run as administrator'.

Let us know if this works

It doesn't work.
I get the same error if I run the installer as administrator.
I guess the problem could be related to some specific issue of the Win 7 environment.

Was EViews previously installed on this machine?

Have you downloaded the latest version of the installers?

The machine is a new one, so Eviews wasn't previously installed on it.
Yes, I downloaded the latest version of the installers.
I'm quite sure that the installers are ok, cause I've used them without problems for other installations of Eviews on new machines.

Do you think that the error during the installation could be due to some missing component of Windows 7?

That is possible. Have you performed a Windows Update on your machine?

From a DOS prompt try

Code: Select all

EViews9Installer.exe -f2c:\temp\install.log

NOTE: this assumes the c:\temp directory exists.

Next send the file, c:\temp\install.log to support@eviews.com and reference this thread.

We've solved the problem formatting the system partition and reinstalling Windows 7 on the machine.
Now the Eviews installer works perfectly.

Thank you for your help.
