Excel Add in says eviews license invalid

Postby Redwing153 » Sat May 30, 2015 5:21 am

Hello,

I've just installed EViews 9 and I am trying to use the excel add in. However, excel is returning the error message "Eviews license invalid : license has expired".
There doesn't appear to be anything wrong with my eviews access, the program works fine and the registration wizard confirms my license.

I'm using Excel 2007.
I should add that on my PC I have an expired version of an Eviews 8 trial.

Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong here?

thanks

There was an issue with the admin in the initial release of EViews 9. Please update to the latest patch from our downloads page or from within EViews.

Thanks, I've tried this and it has no effect - I'm still getting the same error message and the Eviews version is up to date - is there a post sales help number I can call?

Thanks. Steve explained what the problem was for me. For anyone else experiencing the same issue, I had a 32bit trial of eviews 8 installed, whereas I was using eviews 9 64bit. Excel was trying to use the 32bit add in (or something like that!). Anyway, uninstalling the trial version did the trick.
