Eviews 8 SV Mac: installed but shuts itself off in seconds

I just purchased the student version of EViews 8 for Mac. I downloaded it from http://www.eviews.com/download/student8/ and followed the instructions up until the point where the EViews folder and, within, EViews icon are in my applications folder. But when I try to open EViews to register it it only does for for about 5 seconds before closing itself. The bar up top says "EViews" while its open and the icon appears on my icon strip , and then they both disappear in about 5 seconds. I have no idea what is going on. Can you advise? Thank you.
