Eviews8 Installation Error

I recently purchased a standalone license for eviews 8. The woman who emailed my invoice and serial number to me included links to download a the installation .exe . However, running the downloaded file does nothing except open a window that says "error reading setup initialization file". Naturally this is not what I expected, nor what I wanted. How do I install it?

Could you provide a few more details?

From where did you download the installer?

What operating system are you trying to install upon?

Did you try re-downloading the file?

Installer link supplied to me: http://eviews.s3.amazonaws.com/EViews8Installer(64-bit).exe

I'm running windows vista (most recent version) 64x. I've tried downloading multiple times, and restarting my computer. Neither worked. And it might be worth noting that the download seems to stop halfway through for several minutes for no reason and then eventually finish.

Try downloading from the alternate site:
http://www.eviews.com/EViews8/EViews8/E ... ler(64-bit).exe

Thank you, the alternate site seems to have worked.

I am having trouble with the eviews 8 upgrade/patch. It has downloaded correctly and runs but fails to find the existing Eviews file which is clearly in Programmes
folder on the c drive -and tells me it cannot find the eviews programme file even though it is searching in the correct folder. If I select browse and point it directly to the folder, it still gives the same error message.

Make sure that you downloaded the correct patch. Notably make sure you match 32bit to 32bit, or 64 to 64.
