I have downloaded the full 64bit EViews 10 from the links supplied by IHS. I copied it locally.
I right click the exe and run as Admin, it starts the install then it fails with
I have tried installing EViews 9 64bit with the same result.
I have also tried to install on multiple machines with the same result.
The log file is has a result code of -3.
Any ideas.

Are you sure you're using the full installer and not the patch installer?

This can also happen if the EViews 10 installer previously crashed and left the registry settings in a bad state.
Download this zip file: https://eviews.com/misc/clean/reg_clean ... nstall.zip
Unzip it somewhere and run the "EViews 10 64-bit Clear.reg" file (just double-click the file to run) on the machine having the trouble. That should clear out the bad registry settings after which you should be able to run the installer again.
