Re: Using import/wfopen instead of read

.xslx is a compressed file format. .xls is not. Try running the program whilst the file is open in Excel. Should be much faster (since Excel has already uncompressed). Dear Gareth, I tried running the program, while the EXCEL file is open, but I've got error message saying "Sharing violation f...

Eviews crashes transforming data

Dear All, I have unregular issue with EViews crash when transforming data to monthly or annual changes. In particular, crash happens when I open group of variables, choose required transformation and it crashes (or start to scroll and crashes). Anyone experienced such weirdness?! I cannot really pro...

Function @residcov

Hi all, I just curious why estimates of function @residcov differ from directly estimating covariance of residuals from drop menu? What is formula behind function @residcov? Intuitively, I would say that estimates of function @residcov should be the same as if I would look at covariance analysis. Na...

Specification of equation by formula with dummies?

Dear all,

Anyone knows how to specify equation by formula and add dummy inside with @isperiod function?
Let's say:
equation eq1.ls var1 = c(1) + c(2) * var2 + c(3) * @isperiod("2005m01")

This is a way that doesn't work to me.
Any suggestions?

Re: Wide +/- function for individual monthly series

Guys,

Anyway, is it possible to add the button "Dated Data Table" to the view of single series as well?
Otherwise it's ridiculous to add series in the group, then delete it from group, and only then make Dated Data Table.
I don't see any trouble in there

Re: Wide +/- function for individual monthly series

This is the way, which facilitates an analysis, that's true. But the number of mouse clicks to approach dated table with monthly changes for single series still could be reduced ... And I think modifying wide+/- is excellent way of doing it.

Best regards

Wide +/- function for individual monthly series

Dear Eviews, I think it would be more helpful if the wide+/- button for individual monthly series were to show 12 months in the row, but not 6 months as it is now. It's so cranky to look through every second row to catch a dynamics of series during several years. When one needs to figure out seasona...

Re: Error message when using tramo seats

Try to cut NAN observations and shorten the sample (define it in SAMPLE and then press SMPL+/-). Then run TRAMO/SEATS.
That's work for me.
It seems like TRAMO/SEATS doesn't like NANs in the beginning of the sample.

Re: Bookmark interested topic on Eviews forum?

OK. I found the button "Bookmark topic" :)

I would suggest to stick "Bookmarks" button to upper left corner in line with "User Control Panel (0 new messages) • View your posts • Bookmarks"

Thanks

Bookmark interested topic on Eviews forum?

Dear Eviews staff,
I wonder how to pin interested topic into "my posts"? so that I could easily return to it after some time (kind of bookmark)
One way is to comment the post, therefore it appears in "View your posts". But if I don't have any comments?!

Estimation of VEC's cointegrated vector

Dear All, I wonder why the coefficients of cointegrated vector differ estimating them with VEC object and estimating them with OLS? Example below. I was thinking they should be equal. Anyone could instruct me please, what is estimation mechanics behind VEC coint vector ... close wf create wf u 1 50 ...

Re: Fix Scroll panel of worksheets

Dear Jason,

Thanks for the fixing, but there is still one more problem. Pages appear very well toggling from right to left, but problem still persists if one toggles pages from left to right.
If one generate let's say 10 pages with 200 series on each page, somehow pages tend to disappear.

Definitely NOT in Eviews 7.
There are some continuous running features after interrupting current run in Eviews 8. But check out new features.

I was noticing once or two inconsistencies in Eviews Manual before.
Do we have a particular topic in forum for that?
