Re: Impose coefficient restrictions in uncontrained VAR

:(

I'll have to change the whole estimation strategy then...

Many thanks!

Impose coefficient restrictions in uncontrained VAR

Hi there, I want to impose a linear restriction (lets say c(1) = 0) in one of the coefficients of an unrestricted VAR which I am estimating in a model. Is there a way to append (is that the command) the restriction inside the model and then estimate the coefficient? If so, could you give me a short ...

Thanks for the tip. Only one of the files was open.

copy all objects in a page to another workfile

Hi, I need to create a subroutine that should copy all the series, groups, etc in one page in a given workfile into another workfile. I have tried something like: cd "path....." ... %source_workfile = "bla_bla" %destination_workfile= "bla_bla_2" copy(overwrite) {%source...

Re: how can I retrieve the last obersation of a series

Hi, I have similar problem that I cannot solve. I have a series which contains NAs and 1s. For example: NA NA NA 1 NA 1 1 NA NA I would like to fill with 1s the series with 1s from the first observation including NA until the last 1s so I will get something like: 1 1 1 1 1 1 NA NA I have tried somet...

Re: FAME local database access error

Hi, thanks for your reply. I have installed FAME in a UNIX platform and Eviews in a Windows one. Both environments are connected via an internal FTP. From your reply I assume that I would need FAME to be installed in a windows environment (because Eviews is there) in order to be able to access the d...

FAME local database access error

Hi, I have a FAME database stored in my local PC and when I try to open (either by using the menu File/Open/DAtabase... or by command line) I get the following error: "Database error: Unable to find FAME directory". In both Eviews 6 and 7.1 the result is the same. Thanks in advance. Fede M...

Re: Lumsdaine-Papell Unit Root Test

Hi, I've been following the thread on the Lumsdaine-Papell URT. I must admit that you guys are far beyond of what I could ever dream to do in Eviews. I tried to use the code posted here (and its several modifications) but I always get the same error when estimating the temporary regression: equation...

Counting elem. of a group or matrix with a certain condition

Hi, I have a group of time series of public debt. My workfile goes from 1990.1 to 2016.4. The sample is from 1990.1 to 2009.4. In the group, I have 101 series. In the sample, the 101 series have the same values but from 2010.1 to 2016.4 are different because they are forecasts. In concrete, I have 1...

Re: Estimation of Simultaneous System of Equations

Hi, I have a similar problem. I would like to estimate a system of equations where the error term of one of the equations turns out to be a regressor in another equation. And, can anyone tell me how do we tell eviews that one of the equations is actually a nonlinear restriction???

Thanks!!!
