Hey Guys,
Is it possible to do a "\n" (newline) or similar in a @uidialog? If so, how should it go about? I want to generate a list of things for the user to be displayed during the program's first run and want to make some bullet points. Any ideas?

Identifying Variable Names within a Transformation
Hi Guys, how's everyone doing? I've always known that within Forecast, one can choose to forecast on the transformed/modeled dep var or its raw form. I wonder how Eviews identify that raw variable from the transformed one, since it would be quite useful if there is a function somewhere that could do...

Display Names of Series
Hey Guys,
Is there a way to retrieve the display name of a series? If I want to put each RHS variable display name to a %string with a for loop, what should the %names be equal to?

If you use Eviews 7, use the database function to get data from Fred.

Custom Functions
Hi Guys, how's everyone doing? I wonder if there is a way to write functions in Eviews. For instance, if I have a string variable and I want Eviews to check how many operators there are within the string, currently I can't think of a fast way except writing a subroutine and call it within the code. ...

Re: Extrapolation
Well, you don't have a starting point ...I seriously doubt that you could make anything out of it .... unless you assume that the 10-year trend is consistent through the next 30 odd years ... then you can just apply the 10 year trend to those the 1960 - 1969 period.

Take a look at this one, see if it's simple enough for you to start with:

Re: Importing transposed data
The xlsx file format supports up to 65536 columns and 1048576 rows. It should be quite easy to handle a 1500+ by 35 dataset.

How about transposing your data in Excel first?

Re: save
I think from a programming perspective it doesn't really matter, as long as I have the @wfpath or what not at the end of the program. But for typing wfsave in a command window, yeah, it's sort of a nuisance.

Btw, are you using GDP to model Imports? Isn't the latter part of the former? I am not an economist anymore but I think that might be a big problem if you go ahead with this.
