Linking series across pages: copy description from source

Dear Eviews team, I use Eviews 9 the command or program line link x.linkto Quarterly\x would not automatically copy the description, source, and unit fields of the label of the source series to the label of the link. To my view there is no easy way to accomplish that in a program. An option to the l...

Re: Assignment !v=@var(d(x)) gives error msg

Hi, thanks for your reply. I would like to suggest to change that in future versions of EVIEWS so that assignments such as "scalar x = @var(d(y))" or "!x=@var(d(y))" are feasable, I would find this feature elementary for an advanced (and, by the way, not so cheap) econometric ana...

Assignment !v=@var(d(x)) gives error msg

Hi, Using Eviews 9 I am wondering why assignments such as !v = @var(dlog(x)) !v = @var(d(x)) in a program, or, in the command line, scalar v = @var(dlog(x)) don't work. I obtain an error message like DLOG is an illegal or reserved name in "!VAR = @VAR(DLOG(X))". Same applies to other stat....

Re: contract a page with uniquevals?

Hi, what about sorting the workpage? Create an example workpage. 'Generate example workpage wfcreate u 100 !lo=1 !hi=10 series num=@round(!lo+(!hi-!lo)*rnd) alpha name=@chr(64+num) '' Generate index series genr index=@obsnum '' Sort page sort name 1. To keep all cases with the first occurrences of t...

Graphs: how to label left axis but not right?

Dear Eviews team, using Eviews 9 build april 2009. I would like to have labels at the right axis of a line chart but no labels left. The following code does not deliver the expected labeling: wfcreate a 2000 2015 series x = nrnd freeze(o, gra) x.line gra.axis(left) -label gra.axis(right) +label show...

@hcat and @vcat in the help system

Dear Eviews team, I am using Eviews 9, Build April 2015. A minor issue in the help system: the entries for @hcat and @vcat in the command reference wrongly link to Matrix Algebra Functions whereas these commands are Matrix Utility Functions and are also listed as such. You may consider to correct th...

Add overwrite option to graph.merge

Dear Eviews team, creating a graph with the program line graphm.merge graph1 graph2 graph2 creates an error if the object graphm already exists. As it is already the case in with the freeze command, it would be convenient to have an option mode=overwrite also in the merge command, or, shorter, sth. ...

Error addtext to graphs looping over cross sections in panel

Dear Eviews team, the code below creates the error message Data based arrows are not permitted in panel workfiles T in "DO_ GRD.ADDTEXT(T) "GROUP "+"D"". It seems that it is not possible to add text to charts looping over the cross sections in a panel? wfcreate a 2000 2...

Many thanks for this hint.
( I'd better read more carefully the documentation where indeed this feature has been well documented.)
