Re: merge charts

Seems logical, but unfortunately it's not working :(
both EViews 6 and EViews 7 indicate a syntax error with the line
if {%j}.@type = "GRAPH" then

I already tried without ".." but this is not the problem.

Date axis

Hi, the application: I have calculated the autocorrelation function of two series for lag 1 to 28, saved them in a vector. However, because the graph editor for matrices is not the same as for time series (less possibilities), I converted the vectors back to series, grouped them. the problem: I'm no...

frequency convert 2month

Hi all, I'm trying to convert monthly to quarterly frequency, but not to take the simply average, ... this is to easy ;o) copy(c=na,smpl="1991 2011") MData\* QData\* My current problem is construct the quarterly value by 1) the 2nd month of a quarter only (Is there a command similar to c=s...

Compare EViews Programs

Often I work successively with colleagues at the same EViews program. It's easy to find out by eye-catching what they have changed since my last version, but if the program is too huge, it's hard to identify changes. Could you recommend a program to compare the changes? So far I use to compare the f...

Re: how to change axis scale?

Is there no possibility to change the scale?? I only want 1 decimal place, hence all values, as 0.55, 0.45 are not necessary. My scale looks no as follows, which is really stupid!
.5
.5
.4
.4
.3
.3
Looking forward to receive any suggestions,
Thanks Katjes

Re: Find minimum(s) or maximum(s)

thanks for the code, the long-version which gives the right results looks as follows: vector(!c) spread 'where !c is the number of countries For !i=1 to !c %c = countries.@seriesname(!i) '%c identifies the interest rate for each country, named by each country (e.g. US, GER,...) spread(!i)={%c}(@dtoo...

Re: Find minimum(s) or maximum(s)

the whole story: I have a scalar for various countries, indicating the spread (%c) between two dates, then I saved the scalar in a vector (each row is assigned to a specific country), and now I want to find the 5 countries with maximum and minimum spread. The sort option is good, but then I don't kn...

Find minimum(s) or maximum(s)

Hi, Is there a command that Eviews displays the n-smallest or n-largest values? (and the corresponding row) To get the minimum I use @cmin and @cimin, but if I want to have the 5 smallest (largest) values. Is there a command or is the easiest way to search the minimum, delete it from the vector and ...

Ignore error message in for- loop

I'm have a for loop over several countries, and want to estimate a binary equation for each country. The problem is that Eviews stops running if for one of the country an error occurs (typically "Quasi linear prediction"). How can I manage that Eviews simply skips the country (I don't know...

Re: setformat for negative values

Ok, thanks, but if the numbers are only positive, then I got no brackets using my command above, hence I thought that I used the right command.
But I will skip the brackets! Thanks again!

setformat for negative values

I saved a correlation matrix for group grp in a table corr_grp freeze(corr_grp) grp.cor Now I want to optimise by reducing the decimals of 2. Everthing is fine if the correlation is positive, but for negative values the correlation is put in brackets. corr_grp.setformat( @all) f(.2) How can I change...

for loop and group

Hi, assuming that I define in for-loop several procedures. Then I want to group the outcome, including all countries as in the for-loop simple example: for %c USA GER genr yoy_{%c}= GDP_{%c}-GDP_{%c}(-1) next and the next step should be something like: group GDP GDP_{%c} where all series defined in ...
