Re: Upgrading License to Eviews 11

The license server patch was originally released with EViews 10. If you already have EViews 10 users using your license server successfully, you don't need to re-patch your license server in order to work with EViews 11.

Re: Python Integration problem - Eviews 11 Enterprise Edition

The first thing to do when you encounter an error caused by running a Python command is to run it directly within Python to see if it's caused by EViews or not. If the command also generates an error within Python directly, then it's not an EViews problem. That said, this specific error is caused by...

Re: Pagesave compatibility between Eviews10 and earlier versions

Mind sending me the workfile that you used to run the pagesave command on? You can email it to me at steve.yoo@ihsmarkit.com.

Re: Partial Loads of Workfiles

So you're using EViews 10? There isn't a good way to find a bad object. If you can send me the workfile, I can try and load it using a debugger to see which object is causing the problem. If you want to send me the workfile privately, send it to my email address: steve.yoo@ihsmarkit.com. EViews does...

Re: Partial Loads of Workfiles

If you create a small workfile and save it, is it unreadable? For example, try this small program to create a basic workfile: wfcreate a 1991 2019 series x = rnd series y = rnd Is this small workfile also unreadable after a save? Or maybe the problem is with a specific object type in your workfile? ...

Re: Bug using Eviews 11 and the excel add-in

Can you provide more details? Specifically, I need to know the exact steps to recreate this issue as it seems to work fine on my machine. Was this during an attempt to import data from a new source or were you trying to refresh an existing connection? Also, please provide the following environment d...

Re: Command explorer window

I would suppose our "Reset Window Layout" menu option under the Window menu should reset this Command Explorer window as well.

Re: SQL code in separate file when reading data from an ODBC source?

The WFOPEN command doesn't have a way of reading parameters from a text file, but you can always read the text file into a variable first, and then use the variable in place of the actual sql string, like this: 'load all sql text files into mysql workfile as tables wfcreate(wf=mysql) u 1 'repeat nex...

Re: EViews COM Automation Server- Example Code ?

If you haven't already, look at our python code written in the pyeviews python 2 package (see the /pypeviews/__init__.py file located inside the download zip file). Specifically, look at the functions PutPythonAsWF and GetWFAsPython. It uses COM to launch and send data to EViews, run EViews commands...

Re: Problem: EViews becoming the default viewer of xlsx files

EViews associates itself as a "secondary" handler for Excel files. This means when you right-click an Excel file, EViews shows up under the "Open With" dialog as an available handler. Also, if you click on "Choose another app", EViews will appear under "Other optio...

Troubleshooting EViews Slowness

Just some common things to check for when you encounter unexpected slow EViews performance: Slowness encountered when opening or saving a workfile 1. If the file is not local, try copying the file locally first using it with EViews to rule out your connection to the file server. 2. Turn off Automati...

Re: COM Add-In: Close Instance?

Actually, running the EXIT command via COM can potentially cause problems with your COM objects in your application. You're asking EViews to shutdown, even though you still have an EViews Application object in your program and if you try to use that object again afterwards you'll most definitely get...

Re: MTOS

if %filename was originally a name with a .csv file extension, then the resulting new excel file will also have that name since you told EViews to use that name. The file is still an excelxml file format, but the extension is just wrong. If you rename the file to have an xlsx file extension, then yo...

Re: MTOS

Try creating a separate %path string value first:

Code: Select all

mtos(r1, g1, s1)
if @isobject("s1") then
    delete s1
endif
%path = "C:\Users\Dhitya\Desktop\test\" + %file
wfsave(type=excelxml) %path @keep date return g1

Re: MTOS

I don't see a filename specified in the WFSAVE call. I believe you always need a filename specified. Just use your %file variable.
