Setting General Options in Program File

Eviews Guys, I wonder whether is it possible to set General Options (like a raw of code) while writing the programs in batch file? Intuition is that, e.g. I use global option of date represenation in European style ("dd/mm/yy"). But my colleagues use American style ("mm/dd/yy"). ...

Append @innov term in model object

Hey Guys,
Would you mind how to append @innov term to eqation in model object?
let's say, model mod1.append y = 0.2*x + 0.3*y @innov 0.08

Backup files. Separate Folder

I'd suggest to create the ability to define path for storing backup files. By default, backup files are generated in the same folder. Imagine 10 files and subroutines in the same folder. +10 more files flood the folder. It's a mess. But still I want to preserve backups, from accident disappearance. ...

Re: tramoseats

Would you mind to tell me, how I could write a tramoseats opts in a such a way, that ensure to make NO any forecasts, just seasonally adjust existing time series without any forecasts?
I tried to manage "npred=0", but it doesn't work ...

Regressor group?

Situation is following: 1) I run standard equation in dlogs using short notation: dlog(y_2010m08_sa) c dlog(mds3_ind) 2) I make regressor group. everything is clear, variables are: DLOG(Y_2010M08_SA) DLOG(MDS3_IND) but if I run the same equation in dlogs using long notation: dlog(y_2010m08_sa) = c(1...

Re: Replace Variables Problem

But what I have to do if I want to make a lot of similar names in cells of table like this:

table vars
vars(1,1) = "something1"
vars(2,1) = "something2"
vars(3,1) = "something3"
....
vars(100,1) = "something100"

Seasonal Filter in X-12-ARIMA

to QMS:
What does it technically mean "S3x3" "S3x5" "S3x9" in seasonal Filter processing X-12-ARIMA seasonal estimation?
Any working paper explaining technical and intuitive part of seasonal filter?

Using ALT we can use context menu of Eviews' main window.
But how to switch to context menu of series/group/table window using keyboard?

Sorry, I just misunderstood, in some way I thought that "zeros" are restrictions ... :)

Re: Cholesky decomposition

I'm not the VAR expert around here, but I don't quite understand the premise of the question. My understanding is that the structural decomposition for the first (ordered) series formed by post-multiplying the first row of the inverse Cholesky by the matrix of reduced form coefficients? (c.f., Hami...

Re: Cholesky decomposition

Choleskys are lower in EViews. So, for impulse responses Variant B is appropriate. But regarding Variance decomposition which one is true? I'd like to suppose that this is the same, but citing User's guide II (p.356): "As with the impulse responses, the variance decomposition ... . For example...

Cholesky decomposition

To staff:

What triangle (upper or lower) is restricted in VARs regarding cholesky decomposition?
For example, A or B variant:

Code: Select all

       a11  0   0
A =    a21 a22  0
       a31 a32 a33

       b11 b12 b13
B =    0   b22 b23
       0    0  b33

Re: HOT KEYS in Eviews?

CTRL-F4 currently does what you want CTRL-W to do. IMHO, CTRL+F4 is NOT effective way this to do. It needs second hand to be used in order to press CTRL+F4 (alternatively I can primitively use the mouse!). In turn, CTRL+W requests left hand only and it's not so easy combination to press it ocassion...
