Re: Win7 x64 Installation Problem
Any information why 7.1 runs on on older Win 7 x64 platform but a newer Win7 x64 platform requires 7.2? Just curious....

Re: Win7 x64 Installation Problem
I applied the 7.2 Upgrade patch and this seems to have done the trick!

Win7 x64 Installation Problem
I am migrating all of my software to a new workstation running Win7 x64. I am having trouble migrating Eviews 7. The install seems to run fine and claims to have installed Eviews successfully but when I try to run Eviews, the application pops up momentarily but then diappears; I never get to the reg...

Year by Month formatted data
I have CPI-W data in a year by month table format with Year in the first column and month column headers across the top. What is the best/easiest way to imort this xls file into eviews as a monthly time series? Table format: jan feb mar apr .... nov dec 1913 9.9 9.8 .... 1914 2012

Group Mean as a Vector/Matrix?
Is there a way to obtain a vector/matrix with the common sample mean of a group? I'm planning to use Matlab to run some simulations and I need to pass both the mean and covariances for a collction of groups from eviews to matlab. The covariance part is pretty straightforward using group.cov(out=some...

Re: Bulk Series Declaration
Since * represents multiplication in a formula, such a command would require a redefinable wildcard (which some languages allow); are there further complications that I'm missing?

Bulk Series Declaration
Is there a way to use wildecards when definining new series? I have closing price data for a variety of asset indices and I would like to convert them all to gross rates of return. Is there a way to do something like: series *_return = 1+@pcx(*_close) I could declare a group and loop through element...

Re: Command equivalent of dialog boxes
Thanks Gareth! This is very helpful. Unfortunately the label view does not include the dialog equivalents for reading dated series with dates stored in a column named Date.

Command equivalent of dialog boxes
I am trying to load data stored in a csv file. The importation is easy to accomplish using the dialog boxes but I am unable to puzzle out the command equivalents for all the dialog boxes. For example, how to I specify the start of data/header skip lines = 9? Is there any way to have Eviews show me t...

Program Syntax - Code Generation
It would be very helpful to have a feature similar to Matlab's "Generate M-file" that gives you the appropriate program syntax for whatever mouse click operations you used to accomplish a task.

Confidence Bounds
How do I get confidence bounds for stochastic simulations of a model? I can get the results I want (variable_s0l, variable_s0m, variable_s0h, and variable_s0s) using the interactive interface, but when I run mymodel.scenario s0 mymodel.stochastic(r=1000,b=.95,c=f) mymodel.solveopt(s=s,d=d,i=p) mymod...

Fitted and Forecast values
I have a VAR model that I need to obtain both fitted and multistep forecast values for. I create a Model object from the VAR and have been trying: smple fit_smple mymodel.solveopts(d=s) mymodel.solve smple for_smple mymodel.solveopts(d=d) mymodel.solve Unfortunately what seems to happen is that the ...
