Re: export date before 1900

You could write out earlier dates as text, although I guess I can see where that could lead to confusion.

Re: SUR with different sample

smpl 1 100
series x1 = x
smpl 101 200
series x2 = x
smpl @all

y = c(1) + c(2)*x1
y = c(3) + c(4)*x2

Re: SUR with different sample

Copy x into x1 for the first sample, leaving NA elsewhere. Then the same for x into x2 for the second sample.

Note that all that's really going on is a fancy way of doing least squares on each equation.

Re: Switching regression Problem

Gareth is trying to help track down the problem by examining the situation in a controlled way. If you are interested in solving the puzzle, cooperate by following Gareth's lead. There may or may not be a problem, but no progress is made by simply repeating your opinion that there is a bug.

Re: Switching regression Problem

May simply be a coincidence. Check that the starting values are the same for both estimates

Re: Introduce of object in program

If Gareth tells you that some feature isn't built into EViews, you should probably believe him. You can freeze a unit root view to get a table and then retrieve the critical values from the table, but it will probably take more work to figure out the location in the table than to look up the origina...

Perhaps you should post what you did and why you think the answer is wrong.

Just look up the one-tailed critical value in a table

Re: Three bugs in one

A. That error is meant to inform you that the title you added to the residual graph in the equation window (prior to freezing) will be lost. This should appear when the view on the equation has been changed or if the equation is closed. Of course this doesn't happen when I try to replicate the issu...
