Re: x.sheet(tform=d) transforms x rather than only affecting the view of x

Correction: I realised that x.sheet(tform=d) does not transform the series x. However, the sheet view does not revert back to the default option "tform=level" - as documented in the help text - when thereafter the tform argument is not explicitly being provided. This can be confusing and p...

x.sheet(tform=d) transforms x rather than only affecting the view of x

Dear Eviews team I use Eviews 10, March 15 2018 built. I noticed that the "tform" option to the x.sheet view actually transforms the series x rather than only affecting the display of x, see example program below. wfcreate a 2001 2008 series x=@obsnum x.sheet ' ok x.sheet(tform=d) ' ok, bu...

x.sheet(w) does not work in dated panel

Dear Eviews team I use Eviews 10, March 15 2018 built. I noticed that the "w" option to the .sheet view does not work with dated panels, see example program below wfcreate a 2001 2008 4 series x=@obsnum x.sheet ' stacked view x.sheet(w) ' this should provide the unstacked view, but does no...

sheet view with error in argume tform - Eviews breaks down

Dear Eviews team, I use Eviews 10 March 2018 built the command x.sheet(tform=diff) gives rise to a break-down of Eviews. This happens with any other wrong "tform" argument provided. Of course, correct is tform=dif, but you may want to prevent Eviews from breaking down on account of a such ...

Re: @ifirst and @ilast with panel data - how to obtain the respective @crossid

This works, many thanks; btw, @ifirst(x) provides the @obsid - not the @crossid as I wrote - associated with the of the first or last non-missing value of x. scalar obsid = @ifirst(x) series tmp=@crossid scalar crossid = tmp(@ifirst(x)) series tmp=@cellid scalar cellid = tmp(@ifirst(x)) Best, mamo

@ifirst and @ilast with panel data - how to obtain the respective @crossid

Dear Eviews team,

I use Eviews 10, Mar 2018 build,

Assume x being series in a panel data workfile
@ifirst(x) or @ilast(x) give the @cellid associated with the of the first or last non-missing value of x
Is there a way to obtain also the respective @crossid ?

Best,

Re: Problems in accessing foreign databases

Dear EViews team, the issue has been resolved; I have been informed that I had to choose a different proxy server. Now, Eviews can access all the databases I would have a suggestion for future editions of Eviews, though. The lists and text fields in the windows guiding the users through the selectio...

Dear Eviews team I use Eviews 10, March 15 2018 build. I face the following issues when trying to open foreign databases Eurostat (or ECB) SDMX database: when clicking "Browse" or "Browse Append" an error window entitled "EdxSDMX" with the text "Error: AuthRequir&q...

Re: How to extract the sample actually used for estimation in equations?

Many thanks, this works if you just want to set the sample accordingly, but it is not quite the solution if you are after getting the exact definition of the adjusted sample for further processing and usage in a program. (Note that calling @pagesmpl after "sample if resid<>na" would not pr...

How to extract the sample actually used for estimation in equations?

Dear Eviews team, I am using Eviews 9 December 2016 built. Is there an easy way to extract the sample actually used for estimation (i.e., after adjustments of missing values) in an equation object in a program? The string provided by "equation.@smpl" would not do since it provides the samp...

Small trick for add-in documentation/help text to appear in _this.display

Dear community, this is just to share with you a minor trick to enhance the documentation of add-ins. An add-in documentation text file can be made to appear in the own window of the object the add-in is registered to once the user provides a string such as "help" or just "?" as ...

Panels: getting date of earliest non-na in variable for a specific cross-sectional unit

Dear all, I amusing Eviews 9.5 Dec 16 built. Two questions, both assuming that one is working with a panel workfile: 1) Is there a straightforward way of assigning the number of cross sectional units in a panel workpage to a scalar variable ? 2) Is there a straightforward approach of finding the dat...

Allow copy command in programs to copy a selected set or group of series at once between wf pages

Dear EVIEWS team, I (still) use Eviews 9.5 Dec 2016 build I would like to suggest to improve the copy command in the programming and command line environment so that it allows for copying a selected set or group of series at once between wf pages (see example program below). I am aware of workaround...

options for an individual graph in a multiple graph

Dear Eviewers ,

one can set options for a single graph in a multiple graph manually by selecting the individual graph and invoking "Options for selected..." in the right-click menu.

Is there a way to access options for a single graph in a multiple graph in a program?

Dear Eviews team, I use Eviews 9.5 Dec 2016 built It seems that the labelpos option of the addarrow command does not work properly The help page for addarrow says label adds a text label to the start point of the arrow. labelpos specifies whether the text should be above the line (vert) or next to t...
