I tried to run the X-12 seasonal adjustment (Eviews 8) and received the error message "You cannot run Census X-11/X12 from a shared directory which has spaces in its name" Has anyone else encountered this problem? Does anybody know what the error message means? This is a screenshot of the...

Probably want the OPTMETHOD=LEGACY option in there.

The defaults for convergence and iterations changed as well, so you might need to set those manually.

I don't understand why you would think they would be "a:".

The final set of prompts are using the undefined %mmmyyfirst. Perhaps that is a typo and it should be %mmyyfirst, but even then the result would not be "a:"

Put the X variables (including "c" for the constant) in to a group, then use the stom command to convert that group into a matrix.

It just did automatic frequency conversion of those variables. Perfectly valid method, and commonly used way of handling mixed frequency data, but it isn’t a true “mixed frequency VAR”.
