Re: Protect model possible bug?

This is an issue in EV10 that will be fixed in the next patch.

Re: Sort regression output

I'm not entirely sure I understand the issue. If time_fe is a series, and dummy is a series, why can't you multiply them?

Re: Forecast PMG equations for panel data

The PMG forecast does not currently dynamically update the dependent variable in the short run equation, so is, unfortunately, incapable of doing a true dynamic out-of-sample forecast.

Re: Protect model possible bug?

We'll investigate. Looks like a bug on first glance.

Re: Tables that contain series that sometimes aren't populated

The EViews programming language supports if statements. You can have your code do things or not do things based upon conditions. If there are lines of code that you don't want to occur if a condition is not met, use an if condition.

Re: Tables that contain series that sometimes aren't populated

Tables are entirely under your control. If you want to set an element of a table equal to NA, then do it.

In other words, I am not really sure what the issue is.

Re: Sort regression output

There's nothing built in.

You could freeze the output into a table and then sort the table, but to be honest you're probably best off just creating the dummies yourself and putting them in whichever order you want.

Re: I would like to get a SVECTOR or a STRING of all dates in sample

Code: Select all

alpha mydate = @datestr(@date, "YYYY/MM/DD")
svector mydatesv = @convert(mydate)

Not sure what your code is doing, so I can't confirm this does the same thing, but it does what you said you wanted to do (create an svector with all dates in current sample).

Re: Sample depending on number of NAs and zeros

If all the numbers are positive:

Code: Select all

smpl if @sum(x>0)>mynumber

Change the x>0 bit to handle negatives.

Re: Speeding up simulations

Nicely put thoughts, and you mimic most of our feelings on the subject. To your specific question... The slow part of working with R is always going to be the data transferal (although it really isn't that slow at all). Without knowing the specifics of your task, I would have thought in general it w...

Re: Shrinking workfile

Only way is to contract the workfile (Proc->Contract), then save.
