Re: Color bars in bar chart

You may need to create different series for each sample period and then graph the 2 series together. From here, freeze the graph to create a graph object and then use the 'setelem' command. We can give you more specific instructions but a copy of your workfile and an indication of which data source ...

Re: Graph triplets

1. There are no predefined color schemes. You can set default colors yourself via Options->Graphics defaults but it is up to you to choose the colors. Since you will have a variable number of groups, you will have manually determine and set the color for each group yourself. To determine the color i...

Re: setelem in scatter diagrams

In scatter diagrams, setelem(1) refers to the first Y series. So this partially explains why you are not getting the expected format. The second part is you will want to use linecolor instead of fillcolor. Despite what our docs say, fillcolor refers to the color for bars, pies, and areas and not sym...

Re: Sort command

The sort command rearranges the x-axis for the graph by observation for a given series. In graph2, since there is only 1 observation per series, there is nothing to sort. I believe what you want to do is to sort the 6 series using their values at that 1 observation. In other words, you want to reord...

In the graph dialog, select Graph Elements->Bar-Area-Pie. Unchecking the Outline fill areas in-> Bars will remove the white lines.

Re: Eviews wrong data query

The incorrect series is using the average while the correct series is using the last observation as the frequency conversion method. To get the desired series, use: copy(c=nl) index::"GBPUSD Curncy PX_LAST" gbp_usd_ccy Also see http://www.eviews.com/help/helpintro.html#page/content/command...

Re: Crash when viewing merged graph objects in EViews 10+

Can you send your workfile to support@eviews.com and reference this thread? From your description, it isn't clear if the crash is occurring when opening graphs that were previously merged and saved in 9 or when attempting to merge several graphs in 10. Please elaborate. Please include the steps used...

Re: Eviews wrong data query

I also noticed the GBPUSD series is a daily series. Your test example is importing the series into a quarterly workfile. The frequency conversion method will affect the final values in the series. You can either change the default frequency method via Options->General options->Series and Alphas->Fre...

Re: Help in understanding table.copyrange

Copyrange unfortunately does not take expressions. So you will have to precalculate the source row and column as well as the destination row. Here is an example: !c=24 !r=22 ' copy 4 tables to tableAll for !i=0 to 3 !dest_r = (!i*!r) + 2 tableT_{%a}_{%x}_{%j}.copyrange 1 1 !r !c tableAll !dest_r 1 n...

Re: Where are custom colors stored ? How to change them ?

They are stored in your EViews INI/settings file. Unfortunately the values for the custom colors in the INI file are not easily decipherable. You will have to use the color dialog. How are you planning on using the custom colors? If you are running program, there should be a command to set the color...

Re: Appending date ids - possible?

Actually the entire file being a single line is not the issue (I incorrectly told Gareth this). There are incorrect and missing tag in the worksheet.xml files. For example the data ranges for each sheet were incorrect and the column range for each row were also not to spec. If you like, you can have...

Re: Appending date ids - possible?

The xlsx file was not created by Excel and parts of it does not match the expected format.

If you resave the hb1-daily.xlsx file using Excel, EViews will read the file correctly.

Can you verify if your copy of Excel 2010 is up to date? Open any Office 2010 application, such as Word 2010 and create a document. Go to File > Help > Check for Updates. Choose Install Updates or Check for Updates. If neither option is available, follow the additional steps provided in the pop-up w...
