updating addins

Hi Gareth, I have a question on updating add-ins. I want to use our LAN to store all of the latest versions of our addins but keep getting an error when I try to update. I have the following programs(with code below): An install program: callsim install.prg addin(type=all, version = 1.0,menu="WE...

Re: Which CPU to buy

Thanks Gareth,
3770 has L3 = 8MB
3820 has L3 = 10MB
3930 has L3 = 12MB
The other big difference is the chipset for Sandy Bridge-E and Ivy Bridge, with the former using Quad channel memory versus dual.

Re: Which CPU to buy

Hi Gareth,

I do a lot of large scale macro-model simulation, time series and pooled estimation, work with large data sets, all within a fairly complex system of macros.
Any guidelines as to which CPU is appropriate for different classes of EViews work?

Which CPU to buy

Hi Guys,

A bit of a different kind of question.
I'm buying a new PC and wondering if I would see a big performance difference in EViews between these CPU's (all Intel):
I7-3770K(ivy bridge) I7-3820(sandy bridge E) I7-3930K(sandy bridge E)

Re: makegroup

Hi Gareth,

Many thanks. I figured it had to be there (somewhere).

makegroup

Hi, I would like to use the makegroup procedure in a macro rather than create the group interactively. I've tried: modelname.makegroup(c,d,t=level) groupname var1, var2, var3 This nearly replicates the interactive version: level of variable in scenario, level in base, and difference. But missing the...

copying object types

Is there any way to copy all of the objects of the same type from a workfile to another location? For example I would like to copy all of the scalars(or equations or coeficients) from one workfile to another workfile without specifying each by name. I can set the filter to only display a particualr ...

Forecasting and starting date

I am using a structural macro model for forecasting and am having trouble with the starting date for the forecast. The typical case is that the actual data series have different sample period end points (the so-called ragged edge). I have a routine that uses the model to fill in these missing data p...
