Re: Roll (Rolling Regression)

Hi, I am using ADVROLL to run a rolling regression. My window size is set to 90 and my step is set to 1. After I run the rolling regression, my first coefficients are at observation 90. I have NA for the first 89 observation points which makes sense because of the window size I have chosen. I also g...

StepWise Regression

Hi, I am trying to run a stepwise regression: equation eq.stepls(method=stepwise, back, btol=0.10, ftol=0.10) depName c @ sreit na01 pa gender age courses Where depName is the dependent variable for the regression c is the constant that I would like to always have included sreit na01 pa gender age c...

Re: NLS - Converging to bounds....

Thanks for the info I really appreciate it. I have emailed a copy of my workfile/program if someone could take a look that would be really appreciated. I also included a new somewhat related question in my email.... When I am trying to put my equation into a system and then run nls I am unable to ge...

NLS - Converging to bounds....

Hi, I am trying to run non-linear least squares to estimate some parameters. A colleague of mine has run the estimation in Matlab to check the robustness of the estimates that I am getting. 1. I am finding the EViews is converging to the boundary points, that I have set, more often than Matlab. 2. T...

Substituting Variables in an Equation

I am currently estimating parameters for a fairly large equation. I would like to be able to try different forumlae within the equation. In order to manage this and make the code more readable and flexible I am trying to use variables within an equation so that I can change parts of it. For example ...

Re: Basic NLS Help Needed

So I think that in this case I do not want to use a system for the equations, as I need to estimate c(1) and c(2) per subject. I am trying to loop through the subjects one at a time. Code looks like this now.... 'Create a group for the subjects. 'Will loop through these for equations after group tem...

Basic NLS Help Needed

Hi, I am new to eviews and I am trying to run a nonlinear least squares estimation. I am having trouble programming it and some advice/help would be really great. The data came from a survey. I have 28 questions for each participant and i number of of participants. Each participant is represented by...
