FLIPTYPE
Hi, For a given data set, how can one ensure that FLIPTYPE rewrites the model in a meaningful way? Example, consider the equation z+x*h=5*h, where x=0 in the data for one or more time periods. If we want to flip this equation and make h the endogenous variable, it may be rewritten as: h=(z+x*h)/5 or...

sample adjusted
Hi, I've noticed that the sample seems to be adjusted when I try to solve a model using EViews from 2020 onwards. sample_adjusted.png I was wondering if you could provide me with more information on this adjustment procedure - why is it necessary, and how exactly does it work? I've also noticed that...

Re: addinit(v=a)
Hi,
Thanks for looking into this, random_user! I still don't understand the cause, but I think it is related to the actexist-option being activated.

addinit(v=a)
If you first solve a model, then use addinit(v=a), and then solve the model again, why can the solver then terminate? addinit_terminated.png I thought that the residuals would be set to the values they had in the first simulation when using the addinit(v=a) command. What could cause the solver to te...

Re: Create smooth forecast that match level on annual frequency
Hello Gareth, I've created a custom filter, which I've named "smoother," addressing the specific requirements I had. The rationale behind this filter is detailed below: smoother.png Please refer to the attached documentation for more information. Run the program example_1.prg to see how it...

winminimize
Hi,
why does the winminimize command not minimize the workfile window in this example?
Is this a bug?
Thomas
(EViews 13, nov 7 build 2023, panes and tabs mode)
why does the winminimize command not minimize the workfile window in this example?
Code: Select all
close @all
wfcreate(wf=1, page=m) m 2020 2030
genr x1=nrnd
pagecopy(wf=2, page=p) x1
winminimize(q) @all
Is this a bug?

Create smooth forecast that match level on annual frequency
Hi, I have a dataseries with forecasts on annual frequency and a seasonally adjusted series on a monthly frequency. Then I would like to extend the seasonally adjusted series with a smoothed forecast on the monthly frequency, in such a way that the annual value for the forecasted smoothed series bec...

I found the error (i.e. series with no observations) using the command

fame - error when fetching data
Hi,
we are importing data from a FAME database. The code we have been using
has always worked, but now, suddently, we get the error message:
Database Error: FAME library error: 'A NULL ptr was given.' in
"FETCH() *" on line 38.
Any idea what is causing this?

Re: MCE_SOLVE: a more reliable and efficient solver?
solveMCE_v3.zip Attached is a new version of the solveMCE add-in that also allows for analyzing optimal policy. It makes use of the “opt” command from the mce_solve-algorithm (see the documentation mce_solve_users_guide.pdf in the frbus_mce_solve_documentation-folder). You may thus run experiments ...
