FYI, the latest patch has this fix in it so you should be able to test it now. Let me know if it works for you or not.

Re: Import .TXT into table as strings

Oops, sorry - I forgot you were trying to create a Table instead of just a workfile. Here's the command for importing your text file with the first column as text instead of a number: importtbl(name=mytable) Indeks_c_konsumaktivitet.txt ftype=ascii rectype=crlf skip=0 fieldtype=delimited delim=tab t...

Re: Import .TXT into table as strings

You need to treat the first column as string during the import wizard. Normally, EViews would automatically determine this, but the row that had character data in the first column was too far down the file and beyond the point in which EViews stops checking for data type. Specifically, on page 4 of ...

Re: "Get Data" in Excel Add-In with EViews (64bit) 10 not working

Two things to check: 1. Make sure you have the latest EViews 10 patch installed. 2. Run EViews and type in the command "REGCOMPONENTS" then click the "Yes(All)" button to perform a complete re-registration. If you still run into this issue, then it's likely a previous 32-bit EVie...

Re: EViews 10 Install Failure

This can also happen if the EViews 10 installer previously crashed and left the registry settings in a bad state. Download this zip file: http://www.eviews.com/misc/reg_clean_eviews10_install.zip Unzip it somewhere and run the "EViews 10 64-bit Clear.reg" file (just double-click the file t...

Re: importtbl/importmat: bug when importing a "one-cell range" from excel

Ok, we changed IMPORT/WFOPEN to honor the Excel end cell specification when the end cell is the same as the first cell. This fix resolves the issue with IMPORTTBL and IMPORTMAT when trying to read in a single Excel cell.

This will be released in the next patch for EViews 10.

Re: Importing into transposed data skipping columns

If you use our import wizard, you can select which row is the name, and which row is where the data starts. At the end, you'll see the captured command with all the appropriate options.

Re: Run SQL Server parametrized stored procedure

Try using quotes around your connection string, like this: wfopen(wf=xxx,page=d,type=odbc,timeout=120) "Description=DEV_STG;DRIVER=ODBC Driver 13 for SQL Server;SERVER=servername;Trusted_Connection=Yes;APP=EViews;DATABASE=STG;" "{call [STG].[Eviews].[log_Eviews_staging] ('"{%para...

Re: Series attributes and wfrefresh

We made a change to allow any custom attributes (that don't conflict with any attributes coming from the refresh source) to remain. This will be available in the next EViews 10 patch.

Re: importtbl/importmat: bug when importing a "one-cell range" from excel

This is actually a bug with the IMPORT (which IMPORTTBL uses internally). If there are other non-blank cells around the cell you're trying to import, IMPORT treats your range as a starting point instead of a start & end point. This might actually be a feature of IMPORT instead of a bug -- I'll h...

Re: Connect to External databases

I've had the same problem as well (but not with FRED). There is no possibility that it's the internet connection in my case, as I can access the data bases easily using R. For example, I can get data from the ECB easily using the following R instruction: pdfetch_ECB(c("EXR.D.AUD.EUR.SP00.A&quo...

Re: close matlab through eviews if the program is open

I'm not sure what you're asking for. You can change the type of MATLAB instance that EViews launches via XOPEN by changing the Program ID that is used. If you go to our Options menu/General Options/External program interface dialog, you will see a dropdown for MATLAB that contains any Program IDs fo...

Re: Pagesave - the option "nonames"

I know that in EViews 4 and older, nonames used to be an argument instead of an option -- which is why it continues to work in EViews 10 since our program parser still supports it. What I can't figure out is why nonames is not working as an option as it says in our documentation. We'll have to look ...
