Re: Moving License Manager to VMWare

Our software will work on a vm but it also depends on your serial number(s). Email support@eviews.com with the serials you'd like to move to release them from your current server and get confirmation you can use them on a vm.

Re: How to change the license server for Excel Add-in

You can actually see the location of where each of your Excel add-ins are running from by going to the Excel File menu/Options/Add-Ins, then looking at the Location column (or label below): excel_addin_dialog.png But this error usually happens if you previously had 32-bit EViews installed on the sam...

Re: logmode

Found the problem.

RGETS internally tries to adjust the logmode. That seems to clear the current log window. I'll look into it and let you know when we have a fix.

Re: Encountered an improper argument

Sorry, but I can't seem to recreate the issue. Which version and build of EViews are you using? I assume you are clicking the "SaveAs" button in the program window? Does it only happen in particular circumstances or does it happen every time for you? Where is your current Path pointing to?...

Re: logmode

I'm using EViews 10 Aug 7 2017 build and I can't seem to recreate the error. Here's my test program:

Code: Select all

logmode(autosave=on, float) all
create u 10
series x = rnd

Does this cause a problem on your build? If so, try updating to the latest patch.

Re: From excel to eview readable version

Did you try dragging and dropping the file onto EViews?

Re: Powerpoint link not working

I took a quick look at EViews OLE in EViews 10 and it all seems in working order... I did notice that Office context menus look different now for some reason. I don't see Paste Special in the right-click menu option anymore. I had to go to the Home ribbon tab / Clipboard group / and click on the Pas...

Re: VALUE MAP IMPORT AND LIMIT

I tried creating a valmap that had over 2000 elements in it and it created just fine in EViews 9.

If you provide the excel file here, I might be able to reproduce the error. I have a feeling the error might be related to a particular value that is too long?

Follow the order of the arguments as described on the WFSAVE help page.

Yes use @smpl to change your sample range on the save.

Re: Exporting to existing excel file

No there isn't a way to do this in one go. You might look into using the EViews Excel adding from within Excel to import and link data from your workfile to your spreadsheet. That way you can simply ask Excel to refresh all data. It'll probably be faster that way instead of pushing data from EViews ...

Re: Exporting to existing excel file

Did the new file get created? Did it fail on the first or the second WFSAVE call? Please provide more details on what worked and what didn't.

Also make sure you are using the latest version of your EViews software.

Re: Exporting to existing excel file

We mention on the write help page that you should use pagesave when not saving in transposed form. But WFSAVE will work just fine for that too. If you're still having trouble, for now, just try saving your workfile page to a new excel spreadsheet file, but leave the range argument out, like this: wf...

Re: Exporting to existing excel file

Works for me... Keep in mind that if you have the Excel file open in Excel at the time you run the WFSAVE command, EViews is forced to ask Excel to make the changes via COM since Excel has the file locked. Which means the changes are made to the open file in memory, at which point you'll have to man...

Re: Data import via Macrobond database

Also, refreshing a series in a workfile does not automatically resize the workfile if the linked series at the source now has more data outside the workfile's current range. Use PAGESTRUCT to resize your workfile and also look at the arguments in the linked import command to see if a sample range ha...
