Re: MTOS

if %filename was originally a name with a .csv file extension, then the resulting new excel file will also have that name since you told EViews to use that name. The file is still an excelxml file format, but the extension is just wrong. If you rename the file to have an xlsx file extension, then yo...

Re: MTOS

Try creating a separate %path string value first:

Code: Select all

mtos(r1, g1, s1)
if @isobject("s1") then
    delete s1
endif
%path = "C:\Users\Dhitya\Desktop\test\" + %file
wfsave(type=excelxml) %path @keep date return g1

Re: MTOS

I don't see a filename specified in the WFSAVE call. I believe you always need a filename specified. Just use your %file variable.

Re: importattr command

You responded so quickly, I'm curious -- what did you do differently that made it work? I thought the import's overwrite mode would overwrite any previous description. Is that not working as expected? Oh, you're not writing to the description value... Well if you want to clear or set all description...

Re: importattr command

If you haven't updated to the latest patch, please do so and try again.

Otherwise, I'm not sure why you're seeing different behavior. Did you manually run the commands via the command window or did you run the program again?

Re: importattr command

I downloaded your workfile, switched to the annual page, then ran the following command in the command window: importattr(o) attributes and when I checked a series on the annual page, it had all the attributes: screenshot1.png Is this what you're looking for? By the way, IMPORT & WFOPEN commands...

Re: Unknown Error 0x800A03EC

That looks like a COM error. WFSAVE would use COM to save to a spreadsheet only if it pre-existed and it is currently open & locked by Excel. I would try closing the Excel document (in Excel) and try running the WFSAVE command again. It can get a little tricky when EViews tries to update a docum...

Re: Settings aren't stored

On networks where EViews is actually running on a remote server (e.g. the cloud) or is running inside a VM environment of any kind, it's possible that your user-specific INI file is getting lost, perhaps once a day or even upon each restart of EViews. In situations like this, you'll have to discuss ...

Re: Workfile contains links to external data sources....

Currently, there is no way to suppress that message without disabling all of the external links in the workfile. The Manage button can take you to a dialog that allows you to quickly disable all external connections with just a few clicks.

Re: Internal Error 504 504

It's possible your file has been corrupted somehow. Did you try opening the backup or snapshot file? The backup file should be in the same folder, but instead of ".WF1", it has a ".~F1" extension. Or if you have snapshots turned on, you can look for a hidden folder in the same di...

Re: shell robocopy

The SHELL command is similar to SPAWN, but it is hard-coded to look for a specific return value of 0 (if you provide arguments after the SHELL command). It turns out that ROBOCOPY.exe returns 0 only if no files were copied. It returns 1 if at least one file was copied and so EViews assumed this was ...

Re: DCOM on a server

Our standard licensing agreement does not allow you to run EViews as a server/service, even if you are using a concurrent license. For example, we would not allow a customer who owned a 100 concurrent license to publish a web page (or web service) to provide near full EViews functionality to the fir...

Make sure you update to the latest version of EViews 10, there have been a few COM fixes since 10 was launched.

Re: COM automation

In VBA, to let go of an object, you have to set your variables to Nothing. So in your example: Public Sub Test() Dim mgr As New EViews.Manager Dim app As EViews.Application Set app = mgr.GetApplication(ExistingOrNew) 'use app 'clean up Set app = Nothing Set mgr = Nothing End Sub And even then Excel ...
