Re: Capital Ø instead of ø, in attribute

Interesting. I believe we are changing the case of the attribute name by making it Proper Case (which should only capitalize the first letter of each word), but maybe that algorithm is what's causing this.

I'll take a closer look on Monday.

Re: Problem with recognition of decimals

I think using integers in the for loop instead would work better:

Code: Select all

logmode l
for !h=700 to 740 step 1
   !x= !h/10
   logmsg !x
   smpl if debt>!x
   series hdebt_!h =1
   smpl @all

   smpl if debt<!x
   series ldebt_!h=1
   smpl @all
next

It would also help to know the build date of your copy of EViews. You may be experiencing a bug that has already been fixed with EViews 10.

To get your build date, open EViews 10 and go to the Help menu/About EViews.

Re: Update

Sorry, but I can't seem to reproduce that problem. Can you provide more details? Where and what are you copying?

What do you see when you try to Paste into Word or Excel? Is the Paste option not available completely or are you trying to do a Paste Special?

Re: Different treatment of strings in EViews 10

I tried your first code sample and it worked fine for me. When I tried the second version that had quotes around the %path, that produced an error. I would try hiding your EViews32.ini file and restarting EViews to see if some custom option setting was changing the behavior of your string replacemen...

Re: ADODB - Excel crasch when Connection is set to Nothing

Ok, I was able to find the cause of the crash and we have a fix ready for our next EViews 10 patch. It was in a different DLL that the OLEDB provider DLL uses. The patch will be released sometime next week, but if you'd like the fix earlier, email me at steve@eviews.com and reference this post and I...

Re: ADODB - Excel crasch when Connection is set to Nothing

Good news, I was able to reproduce a crash when I ran your sample code over and over on my system. I'll see if it's something we can fix and I'll let you know when I have more information.

Re: ADODB - Excel crasch when Connection is set to Nothing

You don't need to reference the "EViewsOleDbProvider 1.0 Type Library" either. You only need that if you plan on instanciating the COM object directly which you are not doing. You're just passing the connection string that mentions our object's PROGID and having the ADODB.Connection object...

Re: Copying matrix to excel

Use our Excel Add-In to import and link your matrices into a specific cell range. In the Excel menu, click the Add-Ins tab. In the ribbon, look for the EViews group and click the Get Data button. example3.png Select your workfile. Next to Types, select "Vector/Matrix". example4.png Select ...

Re: ADODB - Excel crasch when Connection is set to Nothing

First, your code sample is only using our OLEDB provider, which has not changed between EViews 9.5 and EViews 10 (I just confirmed this by looking at the EViewsOleDbProvider.dll file in both program home directories and they're the same file). Also, using this OLEDB provider does not require you to ...

Re: Importing data from an xlsx file

Our import wizard is usually pretty good and showing you what options are available during import. The one you're looking for is "Header type" on page 2 of the import wizard: scr1.png Then, it's a matter of correlating that option with our IMPORT documentation to find out what the exact na...
