Re: select contiguous sample with no NA

Thanks Matt. Maybe my problem was not clear. Here is what I get using the @cumnas function by itself and the @recode temp series you suggested. I am running smpl 2001m1 2002m12 series tmp1 = @cumbnas(QE_TRADE) series tmp2 = @recode(@cumbnas(QE_TRADE) > 0, na, 1) show QE_TRADE tmp1 tmp2 I shortened t...

select contiguous sample with no NA

I am running X13 on a long list of series and some of them have a year or so of data at the beginning of the sample followed by 6 months of missing followed by a complete sample of data for two decades. X13 won't run on series with embedded missing values. I originally wrote the code testing for the...

Re: disable repeating code at command line

Gareth, The reason I say it is inconsistent is because the first time I put my cursor on line 1 of the code in the command line and hit return, that line of code is not duplicated. Same goes for the second line of code. But once I have two lines of code, when I put my cursor at the first line and hi...

Re: disable repeating code at command line

I have set command capture to "Send command capture to Command Capture Window Only". I typed one line of code and ran it (hit enter/return). Then I typed the second line of code and ran it. (See screen1) Screen1.png When I move my cursor to the first line and run it again, the code is repe...

run program without opening program file

I am using Eviews 10. It would be really nice to be able to run programs from the command line and not have the program file open in a new window. I know that we can execute programs that way, but execute requires a full path. An alternative would be an option for execute that allows it to make use ...

Re: Graphics Fill and Background color

Sorry, my post was imprecise. I should not have used the term "background color" anywhere. I am specifically interested in being able to make the chart fill transparent.

Thanks

Re: Graphics Fill and Background color

Jason, I was hoping this issue would be addressed in V10. Just upgraded, and still can't set chart fill to transparent. Is this even on the radar as a feature users would like to have? Being forced to use a color background for chart fills is a major inconvenience. Basically, it means that anyone ge...

disable repeating code at command line

Using EViews 9.5

Is there any way to turn off the mirroring or repeating of lines of code executed at the command line? I searched the forum and options and can't find one.

Thanks
Carl

mouse-over in mixed graph with bars fail

I can create a 4 line graph from a group and set the fourth line (growth rates) to display on the right axis. In these charts, the mouse-hover over the 4th line will display date and values. freeze(mode=overwrite, mygraph) mygroup.mixed line(1,2,3,4) mygraph.setelem(4) axis(r) But if I make the fourt...

merged auto-updating graphs not linked to data

I am trying to merge multiple auto-updating graph objects into a single graph using the merge command: http://www.eviews.com/help/helpintro.html#page/content%2Fgraphcmd-merge.html I have tried merging the auto-updating graph objects using merge and also freeze. Neither results in a graph that can be...

series with embedded smpl?

Is there any way to manipulate a series over a specified sample period without issuing a separate smpl command? For example, in other software packages I have worked with it is possible to write something like series 2017Q1 2017Q2 sersx = 25 series 2017Q3 2017Q3 sersx = 30 series 2017Q4 2017Q4 sersx...
