Re: Creating new group with negative dependant variable

Thank you Startz

However, I would like to create a new group, which is a subset of an existing group.

I would need a function so that the new group contains data from the old group, but only with those rows where the dependant variable is negative.

Amy help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Creating new group with negative dependant variable

Thank you Gareth, What I meant was: suppose a group has 5 series, 1st one being a dependant variable, and 30 rows. Suppose, I only want the rows with a dependant variable that is negative. Dependant variables with negative values can be found in rows 16-30. Then the new group contains a 15x5 matrix ...

Creating new group with negative dependant variable

Hi, I would like to modify an existing group which contains 5 time-series, of which the first time series is the dependant variable. I want to create a new group which only includes those rows of the old group, for which the dependant variable is less than zero. Then save the adjusted data set as a ...

Re: Data import via Macrobond database

Thank you Gareth, this is what I did. I have tried fetching, copying & pasting (normal paste and paste special) a trial time-series from the macrobond database into a workfile. The series in the macrobond database are updated as of yesterday. However, none of these methods resulted in updating t...

Re: Data import via Macrobond database

I am sorry, perhaps I don't get it. If the workfile has time-series with links to the database, and the database (with an edb extension) gets emptied every time I close it, then how can I automatically update the time-series which I have saved in the workfile, which are linked to the database?

Re: Data import via Macrobond database

Thanks Gareth from the quick reply. I do export the time-series to a workfile, but then the workfile needs to refresh from the database, isn't it?

Data import via Macrobond database

Hi, I am relatively new to eviews. I have eviews 9.5 and am importing data from Macrobond into a database. However, after importing macrobond time-series into the database with the browse-append button, and saving the database with a name, I notice that when I re-open the database, the time-series a...
