Crash when editing tables
I'm running EViews 10 - Aug 22 2018 build I have a few table elements that are governing program execution (acting as settings tables). They are lightly formatted. When changing settings in these tables, more precisely when clicking into cells, my EViews distribution often crashes. A very safe way t...

Settings aren't stored
Hello EViews-experts A month ago, my EViews distributions (9.5 and 10) were struck with Amnesia. They don't recall settings when I open them again (except for file locations paths including the database registry, which are remembered). So, I get prompted with the startup message every time, snapshot...

Re: EIA database error
lots of fiddling around with settings led to the solution that works for my company on EViews 9.5 and 10 at least: 1. delete the PAC-file in the general proxy server settings. 2. restart EViews 3. open the EIA database with your API-key We could have also gone into the depths of the PAC file and try...

It appears we are in the second case, where we see the error message you quoted but cannot reach the EIA servers despite our proxy settings. I'll reach out to the IT department and - should there be any generally useful information - provide it here.

Re: Need Help regarding implementation of Market Model
Not intending to solve your problemsets for you, here's a few general tips: 1. Use groups to get your weighted returns. Use wildcards "*" "?" to intelligently group your domestic firms group g_domestic [domesticfirmsidentifier]* series domesticmean= @rmean(g_domestic) 2. For esti...

EIA database error
Dear experts I have successfully opened the EIA database (after API registration) on both my EViews 9.5 and 10+(Enterprise Editions). However, once I hit Browse I get the following error: EdxEia The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found. and then EdxEia unable to fetch category informatio...

Series of formatted date strings
Hi EViews Pros I have a huge confusion with date series. I would like to have a series of DATES that I can add to my write() xx.csv DATES EXPORTVARIABLES But instead of the date numbers (1999Q1, since I'm at quarterly frequency) I would like to control the date format, hence I cannot simply use the ...

Re: Marginal effects for binary models
Many thanks tho_mi. You saved me many lines of code. I have used your code and found 4 small errors, 1 of which only cosmetic, 3 will prevent the script from running properly (vectors eatm and em need to be defined and should be of the appropriate length (!col_sum), "probabilities" should ...

Easy Access to Equation Output
One of the things that I miss most is an easy way to figure out how to access the output of any equation. How for example do I get out the adjustment speed coefficient of the ECM representation in the ARDL output? Or the std. error of a coefficient in the short-run equation of a vecm? Some things ar...

Re: Pooled Mean Group & Mean Group Estimation
Hey Shin I've just stumbled across the same problem. http://www.stata-journal.com/sjpdf.html?articlenum=st0125 Here they argue that just assuming PMG is the best model, is a bad idea. If the slopes are in fact not homogenous, but you are forcing them to be in the long-run equation, then the PMG esti...

Editing large groups
So I have a large group with over 260 series and an average character length per member of 19 If I try to " edit members " manually, I type them into the popup, press okay and then Eviews deletes characters as if it hit a character limit. If there is a limit, there should be a warning mess...

including subs with variable names
Hello programmers As I start to move subroutines out of my original program, I encountered this problem with variable subroutine names: (The current directory is correctly set) so this works: include MYSUB_US but this doesnt: %Country ="US" %MYSUB ="MYSUB_"+%Country include {%MYS...
