minimum of constrained nonlinear multivariable function

Hi,

Is there an alternative to fmincon(matlab) in EViews? I couldnt find anything other than optimize function. I use EViews 11.

estimating states from EVIEWS 11

Hi, I got my model converged. However, when I forecast the state variables, I see that it has same values across periods. What can be the reason for this? Any ideas? Included observations: 148 Convergence achieved after 20 iterations Coefficient covariance computed using outer product of gradients C...

Re: regressors with fixed coefficients versus recursive coefficients

For instance, if my equation is as follows: Can you please specify which component is part of fixed and which is part of recursive? Xt = b1.Xt-1 + (1-b1).(( Xt-2 + Xt-3 + Xt-4)/3) + b2.Yt-1 – SV1.Y[*]t-1 Here I will put Xt in the dependent variable with AR =1 , but for the rest of the variables, can...

regressors with fixed coefficients versus recursive coefficients

Hi, Can anyone please throw some light on the two options - regressors with fixed coefficients versus recursive coefficients available in state space modelling within EViews? some examples on how to classify your variables into regressors with fixed coefficients and recursive coefficients. Thanks in...

Adjusted Sample Changing from one system to another

Hi, How is the adjusted sample determined in EViews when I run a stepwise regression? I included the same set of variables in 2 different systems (computers)- using the selection method as forward and asked the system to select 3 variables. When I look into the results from them, I see that the samp...

To identify groups with similar names

Hi, Is there a way that I can store the names of the groups which is saved in a similar format as a string. We can create groups with wildcard characters to match more than one series in the workfile. Similarly, I wanted to store the names of the groups which match a specific format as a string. for...

Re: Exporting to existing excel file

Hi,

Is it possible to change the sheet name via writing code in EViews? or the mode = update function is applicable only with the default name in excel?

Retrieving data from WITS using EViews 9.5

Hi,

Is it possible to connect to an external data source- WITS using EViews 9.5? WITS is a trade database provided by the World Bank for users to query several international trade databases using a username and password. Kindly respond as soon as possible.
