Re: Deleting a cross section from a panel
Hi there,
I am using panel data for the period 1984-2008 with 8 countries.
I'd like to alter my sample for the same period to exclude the following cross sections: Iran, Israel, Malta and New Zealand
How would I go about this in terms of code?

How to restrict a variable to its initial observation
Hello, I am running an economic growth regression for 8 countries between 1984-2008. One of the first independent variables is the initial GDP per capita for each country. How would I restrict my variable to the initial observation for each country in a regression in EViews? I thought about creating...

Re: Dummy Variables
Hi there,
I would like to change a dummy variable to indicate the opposite, i.e I'd like to switch around the 1's and 0's.
What would be the command for this in EViews?

Re: Date ID series coded to string value
I tried it as date series, but even the descriptive statistics of the variables look odd. I have also been told that period is the correct Date ID by others working on the project.

Re: Date ID series coded to string value
Hopefully the attached files will give you more perspective.
I am trying to look at the demand for wine and its determinants in Sweden, although I still haven't managed to import the data to Eviews yet

Re: Date ID series coded to string value
Would there be anyway to introduce such a date?

Re: Date ID series coded to string value
About those commands; I can only use them once I've imported the data and when I tried it told me that "period" wasnt defined.

Date ID series coded to string value
Hi there, I am currently trying to import a panel dataset into Eviews. However, when I specify the date ID series to the correct series it tells me that it is: "unable to determine the date format". Some of my colleagues who use Stata tell me that the series has been incorrectly encoded to...
